What Is The Difference Between Stage 3 And 4 Cancer?
my good friend has cancer of the cervix, she is stage three, she is supposed to have a total hysterectomy coming up real soon but has had chemo and radiation for weeks after a failed chemo and radiation months ago she is a upset and having a hard time scheduling it, probably because she fears the worst. what are her odds? I don’t like to sound so brash but I feel like I need to. Thank you for any help.

Stage 3 has a 5 year survival rate of 30%. At stage 4 the cancer has spread beyond the pelvis and has a 5 year survival rate of 5%.

the difference is the size of the tumor, where it originated, when it was found and removed, and how far it has spread. If they need to remove her uterus, it is in a bad stage. As for chemo and rad failing,in late stages, well — only stage 4 is worse — i am in stage 4 breast cancer

Stage 4 is the worse stage you can be in with your cancer. ALthough some people do recover from Stage 4 and live long lives. It means the cancer has gotten worse and has moved into stage 4. No one can give you her odds? Only God knows that. Why don’t you go to the American Cancer website and learn about cervical cancer.
