I am sorry about your cousin. If you want to buy her something, a nice comfy blanket or one of those fuzzy animal hot water bottles may be nice. To support her, you could read to her, or play some quiet games with her.. watch a comedy movie together. Basically just spend time with her would be nice.
I hope her treatment goes well.

Buy her whatever she likes! Don’t get her stuff that seems like it’s for a sick person. If she likes Pokemon, get her the latest game for whatever game system she has. If she likes Barbie or Hannah Montana, get her whatever the newest things are relating to that. And most of all, whenever you’re around her, try to focus on other things, and try to make sure she’s laughing and not worrying about the cancer.

The very best thing you can do is listen to her. Just be there and listen. Cancer is extremely scary, especially for kids. You also need to be sure to treat her the way you usually do. Kids are very perceptive and they will know by changes in your behavior that you are worried. And if you are worried, they will worry.

You don’t say what type of cancer she has. Some cancers can be treated & the children can go in remission & improve. If she is undergoing treatments (radiation or chemo) she may become sicker, for chemo is really hard for kids to tolerate. Don’t change the way you address her or be afraid to talk to her. She needs you to be there. Bring her games or toys she would like & play with her. She needs you to be there like before. If she can eat bring her in her favorite treats (or Mc Donald’s ) & food from home. You at her side may be the best medicine she gets. Good luck.
