Having been in your neighbors place, might I suggest that you stop by on your way to the market and offer to pick up some groceries. Trying to run a house while going through chemo was very tough.

Just tell her you heard she had breast cancer & invite her over for tea or somthing sometime. Don't treat different just beacause she has cancer. They're no different then anyone else. Include her though.

Lung cancer unfortunately takes a long time to present which is why it has such poor prognosis. A hackiong cough that does not shift and blood in the sputum are the main signs but these are also the signs of many other benign illnesses so it is often misdiagnosed.

Try to look protein in red meat. They have correlation with increased risk of getting cancer.
Cancer has strong correlation with food we eat. Start looking from this point of view.

My wife's grandfather had lung cancer. It took only two weeks to hospitalise him and kill him. I think he was fortunate because some people have a very slow and agonising death from lung cancer

when you do see her speak to her , always have a up beat attitude when talking to her ,only tell her once how sorry you are about her sickness, this is very depressing to them. try to think of plesant things to talk about ask about family, grandkids etc. let her know you will always be there for her if she needs someone. I know this will be hard but please try it may mean a lot to her.

Just knock on her door and take some flowers to her, tell her that you just felt like brighten up someones day and her name came to mind. Do not say anything about the cancer unless she brings it up first. Just talk, it is the small things that people do in life that mean the most. A small act of kindness goes a long way. I have known a few people with cancer and I think this should be a good way to show you care. Cancer patients love to know that people still care, this is what helps them fight. Random acts of kindness. And remember that your actions speak louder than words. Wish you the best!=]

I would do something sweet and not leave anything saying it was you
for instance:
leave a flower on her porch or mailbox randomly, or leave nice notes, or something of that nature ,,,little things make people feel better and give them hope...even if she doesnt know its you it will make the both of you feel better about the situation and you wouldnt be butting in or imbaresing her...
good luck ,,, : )
